Dr. Ashley Fu-Tsun Wang
is a pianist, composer, and dedicated teacher who loves sharing the joy of music with students of all ages. She has taught children as young as six, adults well into their sixties, and enjoys helping each student grow at their own pace—whether that means mastering their first piano song, preparing for an exam, or exploring composition. She brings patience, creativity, and a deep love of music to every lesson. Whether guiding a child’s very first piano piece or helping an advanced student refine their artistry, Dr. Wang meets each learner where they are and encourages them to grow with confidence.
In addition to her private teaching, Dr. Wang has taught at the Chicago High School for the Arts, Merit School of Music, the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, and Dominican University. She is passionate about helping students find confidence and creativity through music, drawing from her wide background in piano performance, theory, and composition.
As a pianist and award-winning composer, Dr. Wang has received reviews in The New York Times for her distinctive musical voice. Her work has been heard worldwide at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, the Palais de Tokyo Museum, Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts, the Hindemith Foundation, the Aspen Music Festival, Atlantic Center for the Arts, and MASS MoCA, with performances throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. She has also been featured internationally and recognized by the American Composers Forum, the ASCAP Foundation, and New Music USA.
Dr. Wang holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music. She continues to inspire new generations of musicians, believing that music is for everyone and that every student has a unique voice to share.
